Standard Steel Roller Door
Safe and Secure
More so than a good aesthetic finish, the most important wish for your garage door is that it keeps all your prized belongings in the safest possible dwelling. Gliderol doors fit behind the brickwork, meaning even the most unconventional and obscurely shaped openings can be accommodated with their state of the art doors. The doors also have full height steel guides and dual locking bars which run the full width of the roller door. Further to this, the aluminium bottom rail adds a further level of protection meaning nobody untoward is going to be able to get in and nobody is going to be able to get your valuable property out.
Saving Space, Saving Money
Unlike traditional up and over doors that take up so much space within the garage, roller doors open vertically allowing the roll to be stored in the space above the lintel of your garage. This enables you to utilise the full extent of both your drive and your garage. Properties with shorter driveways (as most modern houses seem to have) and people who need lots of hanging space within garages could really benefit from having one of our sterling roller garage doors installed.
Installing your door
The installation requires no separate frame and you should have no trouble in getting it up and running. To assist you, simple easy to follow installation instructions will be delivered along with your door.
The biggest concern with a roller door is having the capacity to house and conceal the rolled up section of the door within the garage. We have provided you with helpful guidelines for the minimum headroom clearance required (from the lowest point of the ceiling to the top of the opening) and these are, for domestic installation, as follows:
- OPENING HEIGHT up to 2135mm HEADROOM REQUIRED 420mm
- OPENING HEIGHT up to 2440mm HEADROOM REQUIRED 450mm
- OPENING HEIGHT up to 2740mm HEADROOM REQUIRED 480mm
- OPENING HEIGHT up to 3055mm HEADROOM REQUIRED 520mm
If you can’t meet these opening heights then a facia panel can be provided, however this will reduce the opening height of the door.
The door will also require a minimum internal side room clearance of 75mm for a single domestic door and 150mm for a double domestic door. If you’re having a motor fitted then you need to add a further 20mm on the side the motor will fit.
