About Roller Garage Doors
What are Roller Garage Doors
So, we’ve spent several pages talking about the different features of the doors we sell; the colours they come in, how we deliver them and we’ve shared information about our company as well. But, one fundamental question might still be lingering in your mind: what exactly is a roller garage door? Well, I think it’s about time we addressed that little query!
Roller doors are one of the most popular forms of garage frontage. They are installed at the rear of the brickwork opening of your garage and this ensures that the bulky roller is kept accommodated and out-of-sight which, in turn, allows you to achieve the highest aesthetic look for your out-building. Roller doors don’t suit every garage though, especially those which are built quite low- as modern car-ports often are.
Roller garage doors need the head room necessary to accommodate the door in its open, upright position. Because we take the step to fit our doors at the back of the brickwork, rather than in-between the brickwork as is often the case, we can offer you the maximum drive-through width; perfect if you have a large vehicle for work or a family car. Also, as there is no timber support frame needed, as there is with traditional garage doors, more space is also saved.
Roller Garage Doors are perfect for the modern home; the vertical openings make them perfect for the short driveways which are now very common in new build homes or, for those who have garages that open onto the street, roller doors offer a great solution to space and safety problems. The doors fall into two different types:
- The Single Skin non-insulated continuous curtain roller doors
- Foam filled aluminium slatted insulated roller garage doors
We stock both these two types and, we can sell them to you with a staggering minimum of 40% discount; we even offer discount for those of you who buy in bulk. So, more about these two different types in order for you to make your own decision about the type of door which suits you best!
The Single Skin Garage Door is all about technical excellence and stunning design which are really unsurpassed within the world of building. The GlideRol-a-door is really exciting as it can suit almost any type of garage door and bring a real quality edge to your home.
The GlideRol-a-door is both safe and secure and will help protect your expensive property which you no doubt wish to have stored in your garage. The unique broadline profile and aluminium bottom rail provide an unrivalled strength in the product which helps your garage become a fortress against intrusion.
You needn’t worry about your door degrading over time either. With the Single Skin Garage Door, we are sure that you will have the upmost security and safety throughout the lifespan of your door. The unique spring-assisted spindle assembly keeps the door feeling good as new; it will always open as easily as it does the first time you use it and the parts should stay healthy throughout the life of the guarantee’s which our company provides.
These doors all come with a ten year guarantee on the finish (for which there are 14 different colours available at no extra cost). However, if all this still doesn’t sound appealing, there is a way in which you can bring even more class to your garage; for just a 20% extra premium you can add a Golden Oak laminated finish to your door. Even with this premium finish, you can have a manual or electric opening mechanism.
The second type is an insulated roller door.
If you, or your teenage child, want to use the garage as a base for their sure-to-be-award-winning band, then this could be just the solution you’ve been wanting to stop the neighbours complaining about the noise. Insulated garage doors can also help with energy conservation (perfect if your garage is joined onto your house) and help keep out unwanted draughts.
If you’ve never thought about using your garage for anything other than storing your car, then an insulated roller door could change your mind. By creating a warm and quiet environment, it can transform a draughty garage into a useful utility space or games room.
Just like the single skin door, this choice is also great for saving space; all these doors are manufactured to a very high specification which ensures that your door will always stay as safe, secure and as cosy as possible.
The insulated doors are made from individual foam filled slats that can roll more tightly than the other sort of door; also there’s less work for you because our insulated doors only come in the automatic variation. These doors come with two mini key fobs so you and your partner or children can have easy access to your garage at any time.
